Before studying the development of children's understanding, Piaget was a biologist who studied molluscs. He was particularly interested in how an organism adapts to its environment. His view of how children's minds work and develop in the educational theory has been enormously influential.
Stages of Cognitive Development
Sensory - Motor
(This stage begins at birth and ends at the end of two years)
